Perry Buchanan started commercial fishing for wild Alaskan salmon in 1963. By 1972 he had bought his own boat and begun fishing the F/V Dolly B. She was a brand new Hamm hull boat (George Hamm, Homer, Alaska) 28 foot and rigged for hand purse seining (no power pursing back then!). Perry took his boys Steve and Tom with him and the commercial fishing legacy lives on today.
